Dr. Jacobsen is a family physician, certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a native Nebraskan from Geneva. He earned his B.A. degree from Dordt College and his M.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Great Plains Family Medicine Residency Program in Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Jacobsen is married to Dr. Dorothea Jacobsen.
He chose family medicine because he enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from newborns to elderly, and seeing a wide variety of health problems. He spent 8 years in the Army National Guard including a short deployment to Iraq after residency. He has been with Lincoln Family Medical Group since 2005.
Dr. Jacobsen enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and being involved in their church where he serves as an elder. He enjoys following nearly all sports but especially anything involving the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoys walking or running outside for fitness. If he is confined to the basement elliptical machine, he needs to have Netflix rolling to keep himself going.
